Bob the Monster

What is the obsession that my kid has with monsters!!! Does anyone else's kid have any problems with monsters. I blame it on my sister Riki who told him that Bob the Monster was down stairs so she didn't have to go down there and get an ice cream sandwich for him or something to that extent.

Hayes came up to me a couple of days ago saying that he saw Bob the Monster, he was scared so I was like Bob is not real. I am trying to comfort him. Then he goes to tell me that Bob the Monster lit a stick on fire. I then realized that I smelled smoke. I ran downstairs and sure enough Hayes had gotten a wooden skewer and one of the auto light thingies and started it on fire. The tip of the stick was all burnt and falling off, the fire was out though. Oh my goodness!!! That is all I need, I hope I have home owners insurance!

Note to self: Never underestimate the age a child can start your house on fire.

Can anyone organize my life?

"How do you organize your life?" I just can not seem to do it, always have not been able to, but more now than ever. I am needing some major time management help, anyone?
I saw this book on Amazon and it made me laugh. I thought of you 'M' who can not find your camera or phone, maybe you don't have a problem with your keys though.
It literally takes me a 1/2 hour of extra time everywhere I go or things that I try to do because I am searching for things that I need to bring and I can not find them. I almost just give up and stay home half of the time.
This is not the only problem, I just can not manage my time. Any suggestions anyone? ANYONE?

Sometimes your the windshield: sometimes you're the bug

I feel like always the bug, and seriously is being the windshield even that much better? Maybe that is the point of the quote, I don't know. I just liked it because there is not a brighter side regardless if you are the windshield or the bug... maybe that is my 'i hate life, life sucks' attitude really getting attention and seeping through as much as I try and shove it away. Really try and choose which you would rather be the windshield or the bug?

Monster Spray

So this one kills me. I can just be so sad and think of this and it just makes me smile.

The story is we were at our cousin's house one night and there little guy pulled out a spray bottle that I think was used to correct whining at one time, once he was corrected of his whining it was turned into monster spray.

He pulled it out and was showing Hayes and telling him that it is to spray monsters. We left and Hayes could not believe that there was monster spray, how could I be a mom and not have monster spray? He was just like, 'mom we better get us some monster spray, I wonder where you get it?' 'Do we have enough money for it?' So I was like, 'Hayes, there really are no monsters, we do not need monster spray...'

You never tell a kid that there are no monsters! They will not believe you! So he was like, 'Well, can we get some monster spray just in case?' I finally agreed to it that we would get some just in case, but still tried to convince him that there was no need because there are no monsters.

A few days past and we were saying our prayers one night and it was Hayes turn. This is something of how it went:

"Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for this day, Please help that we can get some Monster Spray, .... just in case. "

Okay maybe there is Monsters? Because if you do a search on Google for 'monster spray' you will really get a recipe. I am starting to wonder myself if we need some monster spray.

MONSTER SPRAY

This spray works equally well on monsters and bad dreams. You can spray it as part of the nightly bedtime ritual, and chant, "Monsters, Monsters, stay away." The lavender scent is calming and everyone knows that monsters and bad dreams hate that smell. This spray will save you from lots of tears and terror at bedtime and in the middle of the night.

Ingredients

1 bottle
6-8 ounces water
3-4 drops lavender oil

Directions
1
Let child pick out a"magical" spray bottle.
2 Fill bottle with water.
3 Add essential oil.
4 Shake well.
5 Spray in corners, under beds, in closets, etc.
6 Child may chant"monsters, monsters, stay away" or any other powerful words.
7 Shake before each use

13,505

So this is the number of days I have left if I live to be 65, obviously there is no guarantee. This is an interesting way to picture time....
I attended a photography seminar just recently, of all things this is what plays the most in my mind of what was talked about (I know it has nothing to do with photography, I truly did learn stuff about that too).

Time goes by so fast when you look into the past, but so slow if you look into the present.

Compare 13,505 days to 13,505 dollars. How fast can you spend $13,505 dollars?

That is how I view my days now as money because it seems so much better and it makes everything so small for the days to come. I can spend $13,505 REAL fast....

"When I stand before God at the end of my life I hope I have not one bit of talent left- I hope I can say, "I used everything you gave me."

If I live to be 100, that is 26,280 days left and I already have arrangements to be ran over by a car even though that is still not alot of money... I still am not that patient.

Imagination

Hayes came to me the other day and asked if I could paint his face black. Apparently he found an arrow and his imagination ran wild. I decided why not pain his face? Didn't know it would turn into something he would beg for everyday. I am a nice mom to let my kid run around in public like this. He can even do it himself now.

You have to have a gun with the arrow.
He posed himself.

Have some gum. Kids can not be the judge of measuring the bubble tap bubble gum or this is the result.

My Light

Not so sure how to write anymore, so here is my best shot without trying to be too depressing with some of my other ideas and thoughts.

Hayes is my light at the end of the tunnel right now, even though Jenn and Kayoko may say otherwise after seeing me want to beat him with his performance in front of them tonight.

Here he is smiling and building race tracks out of train tracks......
It is effortless to get him to smile and laugh and sometimes it is effortless when he can get a smile out of me with things he says...

LIKE

When he asks me to 'sweep' him some cheese to eat (cheese grade some cheese for him)

OR

When he asks me to get him a 'paper towel' when he gets out of the bath (he calls towels this)

This was what him and 'Jackson' made in the tub during bath time. Jackson is his imaginary friend (he has had a couple of them). Jackson is bad though, today he was nice. They just came up with a potion with shampoo and shaving cream. Other days he (Jackson) pee's on the lawn....
Hayes found the stickers today and asked if he could put one on his 'noggin'.....

This is Hayes favorite shirt, he thinks it is Green Bay Packers (his dad's favorite team), it is his 'football' shirt. He will wear it everyday with shorts, pants, warm up pants, you name it. It does not match with anything! He fetches it out of the dirty clothes and claims it is not dirty. Whatever makes him happy....

His mind at work....

Cory's grave at memorial day....

Hayes saw an army guy the other day and asked what they do, I told them that they fight bad people and sacrifice their life's for our country. He thought that was pretty cool (I thought) but obviously he did not understand, " So they shoot cops?" was his reply.

I am grateful for all those who have given their lives for our freedoms. Thank you for your courage and bravery...

More than words can say

As many may know, Cory passed away yesterday afternoon with me by his side. I am looking forward to having him by my side now until we meet again just in a different way. I will always be waiting for this day. I have so much to say, but can't say right now because the words do not come out. Words can not express my feelings. Just know a couple things:

  • I love Cory more than anything. This will never change.
  • I am so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends to carry me through this.

To all of those who have given SO much to us and continue to, how do I say thanks? Thank you is not sufficient to what people have done. People have been there more than I could have ever imagined possible. I will never be able to express my feelings on how grateful and amazing this has been to me.

Cory, I am so full of joy to know you are out of pain, but my heart will never be the same from the pain. I love you and will miss you more than words can say. Words honestly can not express how deep my feelings are for you.

Please refer to my dear friends blogs to know a little more of my feelings:

Q&A

Here are some answers to some questions I have been getting allot lately regarding the benefit:

Am I going to be there? I feel weird being there, so I don't know yet. Cory will not be there though for sure.

Is there a bank that I can give money to if I can't come? Yes, at Wells Fargo there is a charity account called the Cory B Alldredge fund. You can make deposits there or you can mail them to 317 w election rd, draper UT 84020.

Thanks all, we appreciate the support!

Gotta love life....

Cory got a feeding tube on Friday! He has had no muscle spasms from it, which was holding him back from doing this because they are so painful. Yeah! Hopefully this will help him keep up on his nutrition.

Other than that there is really not many changes. Got love life....

If you don't you can watch The Memory Keeper's Daughter. I really felt pretty lucky for my life after seeing this Lifetime TV special presentation this weekend (this is saying allot because I really hate it right now). It is based on a book so many may have read it. Maybe the book is not quite as depressing but the movie was ever so depressing. The peoples lives are so miserable like their whole lives, not just a fraction of it and it is just sad. What can I say it is it depressing. I have to have my happy ending! Needless to say there was no happy beginning, middle nor end, come on!!

He was the only good thing about the whole movie

Judge for yourself, do they look happy to you? Well, this is their faces through the whole movie! I don't think that they ever smiled.
