Quote of the Week

I am obsessed with the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books right now. They make me laugh and cry Oh how I love them! They have quotes at the beginning of each chapter that makes me smile here is my favorite one this week:

Before you critize somone. You should walk a mile in their shoes. That way. When you criticize them. You are a mile away from them, and you have their shoes. -Frieda Norris

Hawaii

Now that my tan is fading and the late night cookie dough eating and shaved ice with snow caps from the trip has gone to my butt and gut, I decided it was time to post the pictures of our great Kauai trip. Here are some highlights and seriously can we say slideshow for me next time. I think I tried to post 100 pictures in this post, I just could just not choose my favorites!

Here is our clan minus Jacki. Lets just say that Jacki gave us a crazy 2 days. We were scared of her by the end of the 2nd day. She did get us surf lessons though kudos for that. However, at some point she decided to take us on a death hike from @!%*. I seriously would have paid to have someone fly me off of the mountain. When we got to the end of the trail I cried, tears of joy. That was the first and last hike that we contributed on the trip. The Thaynes are die hards, seriously. So while they were hiking in jungles (26 miles to be approximate the whole trip) and seeing sunsets at approxiamltey 4am in the morn, this is what we did. Kamille- I told you I would give you our side of the trip. I hope you enjoy. Love Ya!

We really did surf on the board!

Our new tats...

Pauls feirce sting by a jelly fish! Ouch!

Uh.. Steph is going to kill me for this one. In case you are wondering how to get your hair like this, you have to ride on a raft out in the ocean to the Napeli Coast. The salt water of buckets pouring over your head and the wind contribute to the pretty nest.

Why did the Rooster cross the road? Roosters just roam all around the island, I think they are the state bird?

This is on our way back from the death hike, someone took this for us, he was telling us the whole time 'Okay, get back a little further, a little more...' do you think we are far away enough?

View from the death hike.

And the bravery award goes to everyone but me and Kamille for jumping and falling (thanks to Ethan) into cliff jumps like these ones.

We are fully convinced that they eat 'rooster' in Hawaii instead of chicken.

A view from our Condo...

We played in the sand, laughed tell we cried and watched the waves come in... it can't get any better than that. Thanks for the great times and memories friends. I am lucky to have you guys! Maloha! Love you guys! xoxo

Okay!

So here is my night, I couldn't resist to blog even though I was like you can not blog until you get your house put back together (it is torn apart) and the other 1,000 things that are on your 'to do' list, but then I was like I don't care! It was too much fun to wait to share.

So here is me and Cheralynn arriving at B&N, the excitement beginning!

AT 12am B&N would not let me and Michelle in the store because we did not have wrist bands, so we got to sit and watch everyone come out of the store, SCREAMING and yes, CRYING, they would then carry on into the parking lot streets. One woman carrying a box of the books.

Here is a limited example of the amounts of people who were standing outside of the store, words can not describe the insanity.

Me and Cher tried to get a drink break to Sonic before midnight, the Sonic driver asked us 'Did you know that the new twilight book came out tonight?' we were like 'um ya?' he was like, 'well we got 100 people just barely and there is a 15 minute wait'

15 minute wait at a fast food drive up for a drink are you kidding me? We headed to the gas station to charge our batteries.

This is what happens when you ask some obsessed Twilight fan to take a picture of you with my camera, I guess it is a little high tech for the average person.

Yes another example of the people outside of the store.....

Okay, are we just not the cutest things ever! This is us waiting for everyone to come out, we just 'borrowed' some girls books so we can get our picture, as Michelle promised that we will not run away with them. That is how crazy the night was, someone would have really done that, me being one of them.

I love you Edward! (screaming & squealing)

I had to put this picture in because this was my face like the whole night! Laughing, laughing and laughing with hysteric. And what was I trying to pull off with my costume? I don't know? My hair is like I just woke up, I was going for mysterious, maybe even a little scary, didn't pull it off so well but the idea sounded good in my mind.

This picture says it all! Christy, did you when the worst dressed prize!!! You totally should have. They had people stop them and ask to get pictures with them.

A few random thoughts:
  1. I decided that my favorite thing to do now is to dress up! What can I say I can not resist pretending to be someone entirely different for one night. It is so fun! Bring on the costume parties!
  2. I am entirely no better than the people crying and screaming out of the store with there book held in the air. I was looking at them thinking you have lost it, but then I would think, 'that is me, I would do that' It is hard to see yourself sometimes from the outside looking in!
  3. No I have not read the book! I do not want readers remorse. I know it will be amazing, but the timing has to be perfect for me I guess? Like it is with me blogging tonight?
  4. Do not tell me anything that will ruin the book for me, I will dis-own you as my friend.
  5. I LOVE you EDWARD!!! (screaming & squealing)

Bob the Monster

What is the obsession that my kid has with monsters!!! Does anyone else's kid have any problems with monsters. I blame it on my sister Riki who told him that Bob the Monster was down stairs so she didn't have to go down there and get an ice cream sandwich for him or something to that extent.

Hayes came up to me a couple of days ago saying that he saw Bob the Monster, he was scared so I was like Bob is not real. I am trying to comfort him. Then he goes to tell me that Bob the Monster lit a stick on fire. I then realized that I smelled smoke. I ran downstairs and sure enough Hayes had gotten a wooden skewer and one of the auto light thingies and started it on fire. The tip of the stick was all burnt and falling off, the fire was out though. Oh my goodness!!! That is all I need, I hope I have home owners insurance!

Note to self: Never underestimate the age a child can start your house on fire.

Can anyone organize my life?

"How do you organize your life?" I just can not seem to do it, always have not been able to, but more now than ever. I am needing some major time management help, anyone?
I saw this book on Amazon and it made me laugh. I thought of you 'M' who can not find your camera or phone, maybe you don't have a problem with your keys though.
It literally takes me a 1/2 hour of extra time everywhere I go or things that I try to do because I am searching for things that I need to bring and I can not find them. I almost just give up and stay home half of the time.
This is not the only problem, I just can not manage my time. Any suggestions anyone? ANYONE?

Sometimes your the windshield: sometimes you're the bug

I feel like always the bug, and seriously is being the windshield even that much better? Maybe that is the point of the quote, I don't know. I just liked it because there is not a brighter side regardless if you are the windshield or the bug... maybe that is my 'i hate life, life sucks' attitude really getting attention and seeping through as much as I try and shove it away. Really try and choose which you would rather be the windshield or the bug?

Monster Spray

So this one kills me. I can just be so sad and think of this and it just makes me smile.

The story is we were at our cousin's house one night and there little guy pulled out a spray bottle that I think was used to correct whining at one time, once he was corrected of his whining it was turned into monster spray.

He pulled it out and was showing Hayes and telling him that it is to spray monsters. We left and Hayes could not believe that there was monster spray, how could I be a mom and not have monster spray? He was just like, 'mom we better get us some monster spray, I wonder where you get it?' 'Do we have enough money for it?' So I was like, 'Hayes, there really are no monsters, we do not need monster spray...'

You never tell a kid that there are no monsters! They will not believe you! So he was like, 'Well, can we get some monster spray just in case?' I finally agreed to it that we would get some just in case, but still tried to convince him that there was no need because there are no monsters.

A few days past and we were saying our prayers one night and it was Hayes turn. This is something of how it went:

"Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for this day, Please help that we can get some Monster Spray, .... just in case. "

Okay maybe there is Monsters? Because if you do a search on Google for 'monster spray' you will really get a recipe. I am starting to wonder myself if we need some monster spray.

MONSTER SPRAY

This spray works equally well on monsters and bad dreams. You can spray it as part of the nightly bedtime ritual, and chant, "Monsters, Monsters, stay away." The lavender scent is calming and everyone knows that monsters and bad dreams hate that smell. This spray will save you from lots of tears and terror at bedtime and in the middle of the night.

Ingredients

1 bottle
6-8 ounces water
3-4 drops lavender oil

Directions
1
Let child pick out a"magical" spray bottle.
2 Fill bottle with water.
3 Add essential oil.
4 Shake well.
5 Spray in corners, under beds, in closets, etc.
6 Child may chant"monsters, monsters, stay away" or any other powerful words.
7 Shake before each use

13,505

So this is the number of days I have left if I live to be 65, obviously there is no guarantee. This is an interesting way to picture time....
I attended a photography seminar just recently, of all things this is what plays the most in my mind of what was talked about (I know it has nothing to do with photography, I truly did learn stuff about that too).

Time goes by so fast when you look into the past, but so slow if you look into the present.

Compare 13,505 days to 13,505 dollars. How fast can you spend $13,505 dollars?

That is how I view my days now as money because it seems so much better and it makes everything so small for the days to come. I can spend $13,505 REAL fast....

"When I stand before God at the end of my life I hope I have not one bit of talent left- I hope I can say, "I used everything you gave me."

If I live to be 100, that is 26,280 days left and I already have arrangements to be ran over by a car even though that is still not alot of money... I still am not that patient.

Imagination

Hayes came to me the other day and asked if I could paint his face black. Apparently he found an arrow and his imagination ran wild. I decided why not pain his face? Didn't know it would turn into something he would beg for everyday. I am a nice mom to let my kid run around in public like this. He can even do it himself now.

You have to have a gun with the arrow.
He posed himself.

Have some gum. Kids can not be the judge of measuring the bubble tap bubble gum or this is the result.
